2006.05.19_Surrounding Landscape of Shobak Castle

The thing I enjoyed most about Shobak Castle was its surrounding landscape.

We arrived at Wadi Musa at around 16:30. After checking in at Petra Moon, we went to Papazzi for dinner. After dinner, we went to the town centre to get snacks and water for our next day - our first day of Petra!

Shobak Castle is not as big as Karak. Few tourists (except a local family of six) and free admission. We had a great time wandering in the castle ruins. Originally called Montreal, Shobak Castle was again a Crusader castle built in the 11th century, and similar to Karak, Shobak eventually fell under the army of Saladin.
